May

We had a chance to spend a couple of days with Emily while she was at a conference in Chicago.

It’s been a while since we sent an email.  We are doing great here, just busy.  We have been doing much of the same as we have talked about in previous emails.  We spend most of our time visiting and helping members. We have gotten very close to many of the members here.  It will be very hard to leave them.  We are very involved with the younger missionaries in weekly district council meetings, zone conferences and apartment inspections.  We love all of the younger missionaries.  It’s amazing to see them grow and overcome any fears.  We have total confidence that the church will be in good hands as these missionaries return home with the experiences and the testimonies they have gained here on a mission.  We have also gotten to know the other senior missionaries very well.  We have a monthly zoom meeting to share ideas and miracles.  We have also had several lunches and other outings with the other senior missionaries.  We have had a number of them out here to our area and we have visited several of them in their areas.  The number of personal connections that we have made here is amazing.

We love this time of year.  After a cool early spring, it has warmed up.  The farmers have been out working the fields.  As you pass some of the fields you can see faint green rows where the corn and soybeans are just sprouting.  We have also been seeing a lot of wildlife on our daily walks.  We see a beaver family, a ground hog, turtles, snakes, cardinals, vultures, eagles, egrets, cranes, herons, geese, ducks, red-winged blackbirds, hawks, owls, racoons, coyotes, foxes, deer, etc.

We miss all of you.  Our time here seems to be passing quickly.  We hope you have a great summer and we will see you in the fall.

Love,

Elder and Sister Curtis
